Introduction:

Yavapai Shrine Club is the original Shrine Club in Prescott, Arizona, dating back to the 1970's.

Being "next door" to the #1 Masonic Lodge in Arizona, Aztlan Masonic Lodge, was of great benefit to the Club.

Prior to the year 2002, Shriners must have become either Scottish Rite or York Rite Masons in order to apply for membership into the Shrine.

Today, applicants to the Shrine must only be a member of a Masonic Blue Lodge, be in good standing and current in their dues.

Shriners are disinguished by an enjoyment of life in the interest of philanthropy. The apporximately 500,000 member organization has a buoyant philospphy which has been expressed as "Pleasure without intemperance, hospitality without rudeness and jollity without coarseness".

Shriners are men who enjoy life. They enjoy parades, trips, circuses, dances, dinners, sporting events and other social occasions togeather. Furthermore, Shriners support what has become known as the  "World's Greatest Philanthropy"  - Shriners Hospitals for Childen. Additionally, our Shrine Club solicites local businesses in gaining financial support to clothe very needy children for winter in Prescott and host the
'Clothe-A-Child' event in December, clothing over 100 needy children from 6 to 10 years of age, each year.

Our Club sponsors several events each year to fund our activities and to contribute to the Shrine Hospital's Transprotation Fund, through EL Zaribah Shrine's Master account, transferred annualy to Imperial Shrine.

Some of the events sponsored by our Club include the local presentation of the Chimera Circus, the annual Raffle of a Yamaha ATV - displayed at Wal-Mart 69 Store where Raffle Tickets are sold by the Greeters daily from February thru August, BBQ/Auction held in September, a Semi-Formal Dinner held in October for our Potentate (O.V. Dinner) where we award the Potatentate our contributions to various programs and last but not least, the October/November program to fund the December Prescott Clothe-A-Child event.

As always, we need Shriners and their ladies to help with these events and are soliciting shriners each year to assist in our programs. In addition, we are called upon each year to assist in serving food and beverages to various events i.e., Prescott Rodeo, whereupon our club receives funds that help us achieve many of our programs of giving. Your support would be most welcome and fun is had by all at each of these functions.
